A workplace investigation should do more than uncover the facts. It should give you answers and strengthen your organizational culture. That’s what I’m here for.

hrology | licensed workplace investigations in Calgary, Alberta | Saira Gangji

I’m Saira, independent licensed workplace investigator, here for you when:

  • You’ve had allegations or a complaint about discrimination, harassment, violence, misconduct and|or a toxic culture and environment.

  • You don’t have anyone qualified or able to investigate in-house.

  • You know you need to take the proper steps but you aren’t sure what those are.

  • You’re not sure how to untangle grey areas and he-said|she-said scenarios.

  • You need to make sure all parties see the investigation as fair and impartial.

  • You’re committed to doing the right thing.

Right now, you need to know that the complaint is being handled professionally, thoroughly, and compassionately by a qualified investigator who is scrupulously fair and will keep you on track and out of trouble.

It won’t always be easy, but I’ll be by your side to support you through the investigation process.

Here’s how that happens:

01.

We start with a consultation call

I will explain my approach + process and we’ll figure out if we’re a good fit. We will discuss and agree on costs (hourly rates, expenses + payment terms), timelines, mandate | scope, and how often I will check in with updates on the investigation + hours worked to date. You won’t get a surprise bill from me with costs you weren’t expecting - ever.

02.

We dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s

I will send you a proposal | contract and a confidentiality agreement that we’ll both need to sign. You’ll review it, send back the signed contract, and we’re ready to begin.

03.

You give me all the details

You will provide me with a copy of the complaint or a summary of the allegations, and share any relevant information, policies, and documents. We will agree on how the parties will be contacted and what they’ll be told. We will discuss where the interviews will take place, and when.

04.

I do the prep work

I will review all the information you have provided and come up with a plan and list of questions for the complainant (the person who filed the complaint | allegations) and the respondent (the person who the complaint | allegations are against).

05.

Interviews begin

I will interview the complainant(s) and respondent(s), document any evidence and determine which witnesses I need to speak with to determine the facts.

06.

Interviews and more interviews!

I will also interview witnesses and I may need to re-interview some of the parties to clarify any new information or inconsistencies. To protect the integrity of the investigation, the parties need to feel they have had a fair and full opportunity to share their versions of events and respond to any and all allegations against them.

07.

Review + report time!

I will review all of the interview notes and evidence collected. I will draft a report that outlines the process undertaken, findings (and why I arrived at those findings because wishy-washy findings aren’t useful to anyone), and recommendations on how to move forward and restore the workplace.

08.

Invoicing + closure

Once I have delivered the report, I will send you the invoice which includes a breakdown of billable hours, expenses incurred and admin costs (printing, file organization and retention | archival fees). I will also send you a request for feedback so I know how the investigation went from your perspective. I’m always looking for ways to improve. And finally, I will check in with you 1 - 3 months after the investigation to ensure that you’re on track with implementing the recommendations, because #accountability

Why hire me as opposed to the other workplace investigators available?

Because I treat your employees as people, not a process. I get it. This is personal. If not for you, then at least for the parties involved. And that requires a degree of compassion and humanity, a balance of head and heart considerations, and scrupulous fairness.

Are you ready to get back on track, with complaints and allegations resolved, confidence restored, and a clear path forward?
